The one and only... Dolly Parton.
The world lost an icon yesterday. But more than that, we lost a beautiful soul whose kindness, generosity, and unwavering goodness touched millions of lives.
Dolly showed us that your circumstances don't define you. She dreamed boldly, worked tirelessly, and used every bit of her success to lift others up. She built a legacy of love, acceptance, compassion, and doing the right thing simply because it was the right thing to do. And somehow, she reminded us that you can do all of that while wearing rhinestones and a smile.
Maybe that's one of the greatest lessons she leaves us with: don't wait for a special occasion to wear your sparkles. Shine your light. Be generous. Be joyful. Be unapologetically yourself.
My parents always taught me, "Leave it better than how you found it." Dolly lived those words every single day. Through her music, her philanthropy, her imagination, and her heart, she left this world so much better than she found it.
Thank you, Dolly, for showing us what grace, grit, and generosity look like. You will be deeply missed, but your light will continue to shine through every person you inspired to love a little bigger and dream a little bolder.
