The secret to homesteading? Knowing when to put down the tools, pick up a glass of wine, and just rock on the porch. 🍷🌲
Closing out an absolutely beautiful day the best way I know how! I managed to tick a few little things off the homestead to-do list today. Honestly, it feels like a massive win because I’ve been fighting a flare-up the last two days. 🪵💪
I woke up yesterday morning in full "independent homesteader" mode, convinced I had to crush every single project on my list THIS WEEK. But when my body hit the brakes, I had to ask myself: “What’s the rush? Why do I NEED to finish everything right now?” The answer? I don’t. The woods aren't going anywhere, and the chores can wait. 🐌 Property life is a marathon, not a sprint!
Today was also a therapy day. I love my therapist to bits (five years and counting!), but oof—some days are just heavy. Today was a "cry through the whole session" kind of day, and that sadness definitely hitched a ride with me into the afternoon. 🌧️❤️
I’m acknowledging the sadness and letting myself just feel it. My therapist reminded me that I’m navigating a completely new situation that is breaking my heart, and I need to give myself some grace. (Spoiler alert: I am notoriously terrible at giving myself grace and usually just feel like an idiot for not magically moving past it already! 🤦♀️)
But hey, tomorrow is a brand-new day. Maybe I’ll tackle a few more things around the land... or maybe I won’t! We will just have to see what the morning brings. For now, it’s just me, the dogs, the rustling trees, and a little peace and quiet. 🐾🍂
