Oopsies! Life smacked us in the face when we returned from vacation, and I'm just now getting to go through all my stuff.
One of the biggest things I wanted to investigate was whether or not we could beat the dining plan (without stressing over pre-planning.)
We originally thought we'd skip the dining plan this year, but changed our mind when we saw the new Disney Visa perks because we knew we'd get so much back on it... so that was a brainer. Here's our details:
2 Adults
1 child (age 10, priced as an adult)
1 child (age 8, free)
We chose to do the full Disney Dining plan instead of the quick service. Therefore, each of us received 1 Table Service credit, 1 Quick Service credit, and 1 snack per person per day. Plus, we each received a refillable mug. We stayed 4 nights, so our total for all of us came to $1,244.91.
😳😳😳 I know, right?! Stick with me though,... Again, I got a lot of cash back by using my Disney credit card. 😂
Now, the big question.... Did we beat the Disney Dining Plan? I'm happy to report that WE DID! Our food and drink total was $1,472.91. This means we beat the plan by $227.28. 🤑
How did we do that? We chose high value table service credits such as Garden Grill and 1900 Park Fare. The adults enjoyed alcoholic beverages with several meals. And I used my knowledge of when/ how to cash in a kid's credit for and adult one to maximize our value. And the great part is, we really could have maximized this more. We used some snack credits for "low quality snacks" like popcorn and we didn't have alcoholic beverages with every meal.
If you've stuck with me this long, thanks! And if you'd like to see if the dining plan is valuable for your family, send me a message.
