New Roots Playa is a community created for Black families who are interested in moving to Playa del Carmen, Mexico—whether you’re just starting to explore the idea or actively planning your relocation.

I’m a mother, wife, and a 5-year resident of Playa del Carmen, and I created this group to bring families together—to learn from one another, exchange resources, and feel less alone in the relocation process. While I’ll share from my own experience and knowledge around the logistics of moving to Playa, this community is shaped by everyone who participates.
