The Nebutu Festivals in Hokkaido are best navigated by a cruise with Princess or Celebrity cruise lines. The festivals run in early August in Aimori. The paper floats are a sight to be seen and tourists are encouraged to participate in the parade! Ask me how you can participate! I can help you experience this ancient festival for yourself! Beautiful Shimabara Peninsula in Nagasaki, Japan. A 7.1 earthquake recently hit this area causing some damage at the epicenter. Hopefully no aftershocks today while we visit the Samurai village and castle! I’m cruising on Diamond Princess at the moment. 🚢 🌊 🌋

This traditional village on Jeju Island S. Korea still has elderly residents and is an interesting place to visit. World class museum, tombs of kings and queens set in a lovely park setting and this gorgeous palace are best seen in the evening at the ancient capital of Korea called Gyeongju. It’s a 30 minute KTX rapid train from Busan and a quick taxi or bus ride to the site from the train station. It’s a nice day trip but make sure to stay for the evening lights! My bucket list trip to Xi’an to see the Terra Cotta Warriors can now be checked off!! I would have done an extra day in Xi’an to do it all over again.
