Heading to Europe in 2026? ✈️🇪🇺

The EU just rolled out a new app — Travel to Europe — that lets you pre-register your passport info before you even land. The goal? Faster border checks under the new Entry/Exit System (EES) that went fully live this April.

Here’s the quick breakdown:

✅ Live now: Sweden, Portugal

🛠️ Pilots in 2026: Netherlands, France, Italy

👀 Expressed interest: Greece, Hungary

❌ EES checks but no app yet: Spain, Germany, Austria, Croatia, Iceland + 17 others

🚫 Not part of EES at all: Ireland, Cyprus, United Kingdom, Turkey

Even where the app isn’t live, every Schengen country now uses biometric border checks — so plan to give yourself extra time at arrival. Each country chooses what app features to support, so check before you go.

Still a little emotional about our inaugural Baja trip, not gonna lie 🇲🇽
