Art house cinema is where human connection meets shared passion for story — and Berlin has serious game. 🎬 Three spots that'll make you take notice:

Tilsiter Lichtspiele
A Friedrichshain classic dating back to 1908 with 167 seats. It closed in 1961 — the same year the Berlin Wall went up — and didn't reopen until 1994, five years after the Wall fell, as an art house cinema. Now an intimate 63-seat space with history in every corner.

Lichtblick-Kino
Tucked behind an old butcher shop facade, this hidden gem seats just 32 — one of Berlin's most intimate cinemas — akin to a living room vibe. Thoughtfully curated documentaries and foreign films, watched alongside fellow film lovers, not anonymous crowds.

Brotfabrik
A 19th-century bakery in Weißensee, reborn in 1990 as a cultural hub. Today it houses an independent cinema, a gallery in the old horse stable, and a cosy pub — with inclusion, accessibility, and LGBTQi+ visibility at its heart.

These "third spaces," alongside Berlinale, are living proof of the cultural richness this history-rich city holds.

At Take2Film, we believe this appetite for cinema, human connection, and shared experience is what travel should be about — bringing you to the most glorious and interesting host cities to experience it firsthand.

London in October: crisp air, red carpets unfurling along the Southbank, and the world's best new cinema lighting up Royal Festival Hall.

🎬 The 70th BFI London Film Festival opens October 7 with Elsinore, directed by Simon Stone (The Dig), starring Andrew Scott and Olivia Colman. The film tells the story of Scottish actor Ian Charleson's final months, as he prepared to play Hamlet at the National Theatre before his death from AIDS at 40. Billie Piper, Johnny Flynn and Monica Dolan round out the cast.

Stone has spoken about the pride of premiering "this quintessentially London film" in the city where Charleson found his greatest stage triumphs. Festival Artistic Director Kristy Matheson has called the film anchored by an "astounding central performance."

We offer expert-led festival travel for culture seekers of all ages: screenings, insider events, film conversations, set tours, local cultural immersion, new friends, and the surprise and delight we're known for.

"When I seek another word for 'music', I never find any other word than Venice." — Friedrich Nietzsche

Italy is more than a destination. For many Americans, it's a different way of being alive. Music. Art. Film. Slower meals. Fresh ingredients. Beauty in the home and out of it. Objects built to last. Family, craftsmanship, wine, conversation — an intelligent life, just less artificial.

La La Land in Concert is coming to Venice for the film's 10th anniversary — a live performance of Justin Hurwitz's Oscar-winning score, followed by a screening, with Damien Chazelle in attendance. At Teatro La Fenice, headlining the 83rd Venice Film Festival's Cartier Cinema Club program.

The world becomes much more intimate at a film festival. 🎬

Among 100,000+ cinephiles, the energy never scatters — it circles the films, the conversations after, the city that holds it all.

It's the anticipation of a live sporting event, an outcome unfolding in real time — a world premiere meeting its audience for the first time, a filmmaker on the edge of global recognition. Festivals like Venice are exactly that.

This year, Greta Scarano and Nicolas Maupas are part of the generation carrying that forward — hosting the opening and closing ceremonies of the 83rd Venice Film Festival.

Greta's journey began with her 2007 TV debut and beloved series like Romanzo criminale and Squadra antimafia, before she crossed into film with Suburra. She's since stepped behind the camera too, directing her acclaimed feature debut Siblings, and returned to acting in 2026 with Piccolo miracolo — earning her a Best Actress win at Taormina.

Nicolas broke out in 2020 as Filippo Ferrari in The Sea Beyond (Mare Fuori), quickly becoming one of Italy's rising stars. He's since moved into film with The Beautiful Summer, The Count of Montecristo and L'amore, in teoria — picking up honors like the Nastri d'Argento's Premio Biraghi along the way.

20 titles have been selected to compete for the Golden Lion at this year's Venice International Film Festival. Congratulatory baci to the films, filmmakers, and cast chosen for competition.

This year's lineup doesn't disappoint: Werner Herzog's Bucking Fastard, Casey Affleck's Company, Florian Zeller's Bunker, Martin McDonagh's Wild Horse Nine — plus standout films from Japan, South Korea, Sweden, the USA, France, and beyond. 🎬

Picture it: the Lido at golden hour, a spritz in hand, red carpets steps away, new friends over long Venetian dinners.

Festivals like this don't just premiere films — they change the course of a filmmaker's life overnight.

Want to be there for it, while indulging in film, food, art, beauty, and new friends?
