Welcome to the BIRD BOX! Someone gave me a whole house!

right outside the Laguna Atascosa National reserve, down in South Texas! We aim to dispel the rumors about how you build a container home - no BS just science and common sense. There is a lot of video work by folks who have made their way with container homes - some making use of the structural advantages to form large clusters and amazing homes
where cost is no barrier. My focus has been on maki

ng a mobile, minimal space as I enjoy and work outdoors most of the time. My journey took a wild turn 3 years ago just as I was about to realize my ambition! But this was just part of my journey - an experience that really taught me some valuable lessons about what it really takes to build anything. People think it is easy! - and in many cases, it is, as they have resources and the land to make a home
In other cases - a lot more video information and popular TV have made it seem that it is cheap and there are many designs that can be realized with a small budget.. but
there is a lot more to it than dreams of a cheap life - going off-grid and achieving their dream

I live in South Texas - where Heat and Humidity are the main things to consider and we have wind! Design starts a long time before you cut the first stud. Thinking about the surroundings, geology, weather and most of all what you want! We are in the birding capital of the USA and home of the endangered Aplamado Falcon!
