Typically when people think “elopement” they think “free wedding” but you still need to plan a budget!
•
The cost of an elopement will be considerably lower than a hosted event for a number of guests, but there are still expenses involved: the marriage license, travel and accommodations, your attire, wedding bands, maybe a simple festive bouquet and boutonnière, photography and/or videography and celebratory drinks or lunch/dinner afterwards.
•
Those expenses can add up quickly so budget out what you’re willing to spend. Another tip is to NOT skimp on photography. Find someone who will capture your day beautifully and budget accordingly!

"We looked into adoption, but while we researched and attended informational sessions, we really felt like something different might be a better fit for us…And this is when we learned about foster care.⠀
We wanted to fill a need here in our community and we believe that life is valuable at every stage. So we saw a need in foster care with the children and their biological families and we hoped we could be able to provide some consistency and love. ⠀
The numbers are staggering at how many children are without homes in the US and specifically in our state of Maryland that we just became overwhelmed that more people needed to get involved. It was then that we saw foster care as a place where we could serve and hopefully one day adopt...” ⠀

Another story of someone saying "yes". Constantly inspired by the stories shares. It's difficult to change the world but you can focus on changing the world for one person at a time. ⠀

The difference between your "relaxing" and "boring" isn't always immediately clear. Talk it out with your fiancé and figure out what you both really want. ⠀

Travel agents should know the right questions to ask to help figure it out. They have insider knowledge on deals and discounts and cultivate personal relationships with hoteliers, which can sometimes mean a room's suddenly available in a booked-solid hotel. ⠀

Unless you have exceptional handwriting, hiring a wedding calligrapher adds a personal and professional touch to your big day. Riley and Ko is a team of two sisters who started working together in 2015. Laura and Hannah do all types of wedding calligraphy: from envelope addressing, signs, place or es**rt cards, table numbers, to pretty much anything you can write on. ⠀

Your flower girl might run down the aisle and not throw a single petal. Your processional music may stop suddenly as you bridesmaids are walking down. The wind might make for some crazy veil pics. It's ok. Your ceremony, though it's one of the quickest parts of the day, is the most special and beautiful and doesn't have to go perfectly.⠀

You don't have to follow tradition or be professional because it's YOUR wedding ceremony! So feel free to let loose and laugh a little. After all, you are marrying your best friend and that's the most joyful thing ever.⠀

So take a deep break, smile, laugh, cry, do whatever you want to as you all are officially become husband and wife! And don't forget to enjoy every minute of it. ⠀

What I love about is that they not only advocate for adoptive and foster families, they also work to educate people on the reality of the orphan crisis around the world. Their hope is to truly educate people so they are inspired into action to make these statistics a little smaller. ⠀

"Today, it is estimated that there are 140 million orphans worldwide. It’s a statistic we’ve all heard. A lesser-known fact is that only 15.1 million are “true orphans,” meaning there are no living birth parents known. While this number is staggering, when viewed from an alternative vantage point, this means that 80 percent of children, worldwide, have at least one living birth parent. ⠀
⠀
This number doesn’t take into account grandparents or other extended family members willing to care for the child. Many of these children, including ones I’ve known and worked with, end up in orphanages as a result of poverty, because families are simply unable to provide for the most basic needs of the child. ⠀
⠀
This is where taking a “let’s just adopt all the children currently living in orphanages” approach to solving the orphan crisis becomes deeply and systematically complicated. There are many unintended consequences to this approach, which negatively impact the international adoption process as a whole. "⠀
