📍 Helen, GA - Unicoi State Park and Lodge
A great getaway in the North Georgia mountains!
When I was a little girl, I loved exploring the lobby at Unicoi State Park & Lodge. My mom worked in the gift shop for a while and later made quilts and other things like that for them to sell, so we visited often. I was fascinated by everything inside that lodge. The grand chandelier was my favorite with the opening to the floor below, all the angles in the ceiling, the staircases, the long hallways and all those little sitting nooks felt like something out of a storybook…the fire pit outside, the mountain views. To 6 year old me, it was pure magic!
Recently, I brought my husband and daughter back to learn more about the zip line, and we ended up wandering through the lodge just like I used to as a kid.
And you know what? It was just as magical as I remembered.
Some places are more than just a destination. They’re part of your story. ❤️
