Mamelah's Macaroons

Mamelah's Macaroons mah • me • luh . Little Mommy. Growing up, my mom used to make macaroons once a year. As a kid, I hated coconut, so I never even tasted the sweet, chewy, results.

It was no small production—we would spend an entire day mixing, shaping, baking, and dipping the decadent treats. We would make enough to stock the freezer full, but once they were gone, they were gone. Friends and family members used to sneak into the freezer to steal a cookie on every visit. Despite many requests for the recipe, it remained a well-guarded family secret. About 7 years ago, at the

insistence of my now-husband, I finally took a taste and OH. MY. GOODNESS. I understood what all the fuss was about! With the encouragement of my husband, and the blessings of my mother (who now makes macaroons twice a year, to keep the freezer stocked!)...Mamelah's was born! I use the same recipe that was handed down to my mother, and only the finest ingredients. I've added a few varieties of macaroons, and other indulgent goodies to round out our menu.
