Throwback Thursday: Things your kids will never understand.

On September 4, 1888, George Eastman patented the Kodak camera. You bought film from Kodak, paid Kodak to develop it, then bought more film from Kodak.

A Kodak engineer invented the world’s first digital camera in 1975. Executives told him: “That’s cute – but don’t tell anyone about it.”

At its peak in the 90s, Kodak controlled 90% of the U.S. film market. In 2012, its own invention forced the company into bankruptcy.

On our tour, we'll show you some great Madison photos that are part of the history of photography.

In the 1986 film Ferris Bueller's Day Off, whenever anyone needs something, the signature response is "You know who you should talk to?" The version of that advice for someone seeking to understand Madison history ends with: Ken Kocher. We are so in.

A Southern historic trolley tour and ice hockey may seem an unusual combination, but this is no ordinary sponsorship.

This season, Athens Rock Lobsters home games will begin with an intro video featuring Maddie getting the game puck from Madison to Athens just in time for the opening face-off. How cool is that?

The Rock Lobsters have done an exceptional job bringing professional hockey to Athens. The Classic Center is an awesome venue, and they create a fun and exciting atmosphere around the coolest and fastest game on earth.

If you want to check out a game, maybe we can give you a lift. We'll be headed that way with the puck anyway.

Welcome to the team Madison Trolley Co.! We are so excited to announce them as official partners for the 2025-26 season!🦞

Madisonian Monday: George Andrews

George Andrews, was a former sharecropper, father of ten, and patriarch to a family of highly creative artists and writers. He moved to Madison in the 1950s and found work as a sign painter for the city. Soon, brightly colored dot-filled rocks began showing up all around town.

Andrews, who adorned furniture, women’s shoes, and pretty much anything that didn’t move with his unique style of art, became known as “The Dot Man”. Paintings he created between 1989 and 1991 depicting three generations of his family are on permanent display Madison-Morgan Cultural Center.
