60 years ago, Ms. Joan visited Circle Bar Guest Ranch in Utica, Montana.

I recently posted about our Relax and Ride Retreat in a FB group and she was ecstatic to see that it was the same ranch that she went to with her parents and siblings when she was only 9 years old. She gave me this picture of her on her pony “Star” and told of her two trail rides a day, fabulous food, swimming, happy hours for her parents and that infamous morning horse roundup. I told her that it didn’t sound like much has changed! Ms. Joan is still riding to this day too.

How incredible to have created memories that literally lasted a lifetime? And memories that created JOY 60 years later at the sight of a familiar place? Just warms my heart! That’s what we hope to give to our families, our clients and their families. 🤍

There’s something about a few days at a ranch that turns strangers into friends pretty quickly. Maybe it’s long trail rides and conversations in the saddle. Maybe laughing over a drink at the local watering hole or spending the evening swapping stories about the day. Whatever it is, the social side of a ranch stay is one of our favorite parts.

Our time at Circle Bar Ranch was filled with kind, interesting women who made the experience that much more fun. The kind of people you meet on a trip like this are a big part of what makes it special.

And it’s one of the reasons we love ranch vacations for solo travelers too. You can arrive on your own without necessarily traveling alone. There’s a natural community built into the experience—rides together, meals together, and plenty of time to connect in between.

Come for the horses and the scenery. You might just leave talking about the people. Thank you to every one of the nine ladies who filled our stay with kindness and fun.
