Outdoor Family Adventures

Outdoor Family Adventures Reviews of local trails, hikes, and other adventures from the perspective of having little/younger kids with you.

We are parents of 4 kids, ranging in age from 10-16 years old. We love being outdoors, but when our kids were much younger, we found researching trails and outdoor adventures online hard; we could never tell if they were "little" kid-friendly. We have decided to venture out around our community and review our trails for those that are in the same situation! We'll give you an overview from a parent-with-small-kids point of view.

Have you ever tried this? How close did you get to the actual temperature?

According to Wikipedia, this calculation could have instead been called Brooks' Law:
"Dolbear's observations on the relation between chirp rate and temperature were preceded by an 1881 report by Margarette W. Brooks, although this paper went unnoticed until after Dolbear's publication."

Google "Dolbear's Law" to see the original formula (and other simplified versions).

This is important! While I'm glad I was able to visit before the permits were required, I absolutely understand it. This place was so packed; it was too much and clearly was impacting nature.

A dramatic change begins for how to visit the waterfall corridor of the Columbia River Gorge.

Campfire is definitely one of mine.
