ב-15 למאי נפתחה תערוכת יחיד לדיוויד הוקני, במה שהפכה לתערוכת פרידה מאמן יקר, חשוב ואהוב, שהלך לעולמו כמה שבועות לאחר מכן, ב-11 ליוני.

בתערוכה ששמה ״חדר הירח״ מוצגות עבודות שהוקני צייר על האייפד שלו במהלך מגיפת הקורונה, תקופה שהוא בילה בבית עץ מהמאה ה-17 בנורמנדי, צרפת.

הוקני סיפר שבלילות לאחר כיבוי האורות בבית הירח האיר חזק מספיק כדי להטיל צללים מהעצים סביב. האייפד סיפק לו מספיק תאורה כדי לצייר את הצללים והטקסטורות שהירח יצר במרחב מולו. זהו גוף עבודות שמשקף יפה את העניין של הוקני באור, מחזוריות הטבע, פואטיקה ויופי.

התערוכה תוצג בגלריה פייס בניו יורק עד ה-14 לאוגוסט

איך אפשר להסביר את יופייה של ברצלונה?
מאחורי הגריד המפורסם של האשמפלה מסתתר סיפור על חברה, שוויון, קדמה, לאומיות, יופי וכוח. בין מהנדס שחלם עיר רציונלית וצודקת לבין בורגנות מתפתחת שביקשה לבטא את מעמדה ואת הזהות התרבותית הקטלאנית באמצעות האדריכלות.

הכתבה החדשה שלי El puente הפואנטה היא הזמנה להיכנס לסיפור הזה וגם טעימה מהסיורים שלנו, שבהם אנחנו מנסים לקרוא את הרחובות לא רק דרך המבנים, אלא דרך הרעיונות שעיצבו אותם.

?Can Barcelona's beauty be explained

Behind the famous grid of the Eixample lies a story about society, equality, progress, nationalism, beauty, and power. It is the story of an engineer who dreamed of a rational and just city, and of a rising bourgeoisie that sought to express its status and Catalan cultural identity through architecture.

My latest article for El puente הפואנטה is an invitation to step into that story, and a glimpse of our tours, where we explore the city not only through its buildings, but through the ideas that shaped them.

תערוכה מרתקת ב־CaixaForum Barcelona:
“Chez Matisse. The Legacy of a New Approach to Painting”, בשיתוף Centre Pompidou.

התערוכה מאגדת כ־40 יצירות מופת של הנרי מאטיס, המוצגות בדיאלוג עם אמנים ואמניות מרכזיים של המאה ה־20, וחושפת את ההדהוד העמוק של שפתו בתוך המודרנה ולאחריה. היא מראה כיצד מאטיס שינה מן היסוד את שפת הציור המודרני דרך עיסוק בדקורטיביות, בגוף, במבט ובגבולות הציור עצמו.

מאטיס אמר:
״אני לא מצייר דברים, אני מצייר את היחסים ביניהם.״
ובערוב ימיו הוסיף:
״האמנות המודרנית היא התפרצות של הלב.״
משפטים אלו משקפים היטב את האופן שבו התערוכה מציגה את דמותו, אמן שהצבע עבורו איננו תיאור של העולם, אלא כוח חי ופועם הבורא אותו מחדש.

שמחתי מאוד לחלוק שיחה עשירה ומרתקת עם קבוצה נפלאה של משתתפות ומשתתפים מכל העולם החיים בברצלונה, שיצרו יחד מרחב של התבוננות ושיחה עמוקה. תודה רבה ArtClubBarcelona ולמיכל

A fascinating exhibition at CaixaForum Barcelona:
“Chez Matisse. The Legacy of a New Approach to Painting”, in collaboration with the Centre Pompidou.

The exhibition brings together around 40 masterpieces by Henri Matisse, presented in dialogue with major artists of the 20th century, revealing the deep resonance of his visual language within and beyond modernism. It shows how Matisse fundamentally transformed modern painting through questions of decoration, the body, the gaze, and the very limits of painting itself.

Matisse once said:
“I do not paint things, I paint the relationships between things.”
And later in life he added:
“Modern art is an eruption of the heart.”

These two statements beautifully reflect the way the exhibition presents Matisse — an artist for whom color was not a description of the world, but a living force that recreates it.

I was very happy to share a rich and engaging conversation with a wonderful group of participants from around the world living in Barcelona, who together created a space for reflection and meaningful dialogue.

נכנסתי לתערוכה על פאן־אפריקניות ב MACBA Museu d'Art Contemporani de Barcelona וחזרתי אליה שוב ושוב.
לא רק משום שחלק מן העבודות מופלאות ואחרות פועלות כנקודות עיגון תרבותיות, אלא בגלל הקו שהיא מותחת, קו מחשבתי רחב.

זהו פרויקט שמבקש לשרטט תנועה תרבותית, פוליטית ואמנותית לאורך יותר ממאה שנים, מן הקונגרס הפאן־אפריקני הראשון ב־1919 ועד היום, ובדרך שואל שאלות על האופן שבו היסטוריה נכתבת, נאספת ומוצגת.

I entered the Pan-Africanism exhibition at the MACBA Museu d'Art Contemporani de Barcelona and found myself returning to it repeatedlyNot only because some of the works are remarkable while others function as cultural points of reference, but because of the line it draws, a broad line of thought.

It is a project that traces a cultural, political, and artistic movement spanning more than a century,
from the first Pan-African Congress in 1919 to the present,
while raising questions about how history is written, collected, and displayed.

I wrote about the exhibition for El puente הפואנטה,
an independent Hebrew-language magazine based in Spain.
