One thing my clients know about me? I’ll always be honest about vacations, especially when it comes to GTY rooms when cruising. 😂

GTY (guarantee) rooms are usually cheaper, but you have to be willing to gamble a little. I never recommend them if you’re set on a specific location, and for ocean view balconies especially… there’s always the chance you’ll end up with an obstructed view.

Now neighborhood balcony GTY? I’ll gamble on that 99.9% of the time. But ocean view balcony? I usually pick my exact room.

This time though… I decided to roll the dice. 🎲

And honestly? Could this view have been worse? Absolutely. Is it my dream unobstructed balcony? No. But for a last-minute cruise decision and taking the GTY gamble, I’d say we got pretty lucky!

That’s the thing with cruising — sometimes the savings are worth the risk… as long as you go in knowing exactly what you might get. 🚢 . .
