One of the biggest mistakes I see travelers make?

Picking a resort before deciding what kind of vacation they actually want.

Hear me out.

People will spend weeks comparing resorts, room categories, and restaurants without ever answering the most important question:

How do I want to FEEL on this trip?

Do you want:
☀️ To do absolutely nothing except lounge by the pool with a drink in hand?
🌴 To explore, snorkel, and leave the resort every day?
🍽️ To eat your way through a destination?
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 To spend quality time with family?
💆‍♀️ To be completely taken care of and not make a single decision all week?

Because the “best” resort for one traveler could be completely wrong for another.

The internet loves ranking resorts.

I prefer matching vacations to people.

The resort comes second.

The vacation style comes first.

Are you looking for the perfect pool option, but seeing room categories from one extreme to the next?

I can help with that.

The first feels like your own private oasis. No rooms above you. No shared pool. No strangers walking by while you're enjoying your morning coffee.

The second looks incredible in photos, but guests on higher floors can often see directly into your swim-out area.

The third? It's basically a ground-floor patio next to a public pool.

The crazy part? All three can be marketed as "swim-out suites."

This is why I spend so much time matching clients to the right room category, not just the right resort.

Because sometimes the difference between a dream vacation and a disappointing one isn't the destination—it's the room you choose once you get there.

Details matter. And they're usually hiding in the fine print.

This multi-generational family is headed to Caribe Resort for a fun beach getaway!

With grandparents, parents, and two little ones in tow, they needed more than just a condo—they needed space, activities, and something for every age. Between the pools, lazy river, waterslides, beach access, and roomy accommodations, Caribe checked every box.

One of the biggest misconceptions about travel advisors is that we’re only helpful for complicated trips. Sometimes the real value is simply knowing which resort is the right resort for your family’s unique needs.

Did you know bigger cruise ships often feel less crowded than smaller ships? 🚢

It sounds backwards… but newer ships are designed with better crowd flow, more dining venues, more entertainment spaces, and more places for guests to spread out throughout the day.

Meanwhile, smaller ships can sometimes funnel everyone into the same pool deck, buffet, or theater all at once.

This is why two cruises at similar price points can feel completely different once you’re onboard.

Cruise line personality and ship design matter far more than most travelers realize.

Today feels a little different on the timeline. 🇺🇸

Between the beach trips, cookouts, cruise countdowns, and summer vacation excitement… I hope we all take a quiet moment to remember why we have this long weekend in the first place.

Memorial Day is for honoring the men and women who gave their lives in service to this country — and the families who carry that sacrifice every single day.

If you’ve been considering a Norwegian cruise for 2026, this is genuinely a pretty solid time to start looking — especially for Alaska, Caribbean, and Bahamas itineraries.

Right now, many sailings are combining:
• 50% off cruise fares
• onboard credit on select sailings
• NCL’s “Free at Sea” perks like open bar, specialty dining, Wi-Fi, and shore excursion credits
• some sailings even offering kids sail free or reduced airfare promotions 

What actually makes this worthwhile isn’t necessarily the flashy “50% off” headline (cruise pricing is constantly shifting behind the scenes 😅) — it’s the included value.

For the right traveler, those inclusions can save a substantial amount once you factor in drinks, dining, internet, and excursions. 

The areas I’m personally seeing the strongest opportunities right now:
🏔 Alaska 2026
🏝 Caribbean sailings from New Orleans & Galveston
🚢 Short Bahamas cruises
✨ Newer ships like Norwegian Aqua, Prima, and Viva

And honestly? NCL is a really good fit for travelers who care more about flexibility and variety than rigid schedules and formal cruise culture.
