My algorithm has be overflowing with the news that vacation booking site that starts with an A has got hosts and vacationers in a tizzy. If you know, you know.

Funny story about a past stay several years back at a short term rental in the Ouachita Mountains. We booked what looked like a quirky cabin built out of straw bales. It may have been the first little pig’s 🐷 house🏡! But it was still standing!

When we arrived to the very thick walled house, we were met by a cat with an open wound. Once inside, we wondered if the person lived there when it wasn’t rented. A long list of feeding was left to perform for the menagerie of creatures that lived outside. We were asked feed cats, deer and possibly ducks or chickens, it has been a while. We asked to leave dog food out at dusk to feed raccoons! Twenty-five raccoons showed up by the glass door! We started calling the wounded cat the owner as it followed us everywhere we went.

Inside, the house held an velvet old-time sofa with the stuffing gone flat as a board. When we went up stairs, we had to duck under boards that crossed the stairway lest we would have bumped our noggins. And we are all short! One bedroom had a step into the bathroom. Very fairytale like!!

Outside there was a pond with a canoe to use. My sister and I went out in it and soon found it filling with water due to a leak!

Now, there were some big asks at that place! But we took it in stride.

What a crazy, mysterious unforgettable stay!
