Twin Pines Minerals is behind on hundreds of thousands of dollars in personal property tax payments related to the company’s controversial titanium mine.

06/07/2025

Twin Pines Minerals, the company seeking to mine titanium near the Okefenokee, has not produced the $2 million bond required to receive a permit.

This delays the permit and shows yet another sign of financial distress.

“The fact that Twin Pines hasn’t or can’t come up with this amount of money shows they aren’t a responsible actor and aren’t serious about doing this project responsibly,” said Southern Environmental Law Center attorney Peter Slag.

Twin Pines and several of its executives and affiliates are also facing a pair of lawsuits from companies that allege they’re owed millions in unpaid services.
