🏝️ Winter Island / Waikiki Beach — Bambi’s Honest Salem Review 🌊🖤

We headed out to Winter Island to see Waikiki Beach (also known as Fort Pickering Beach) and, of course, the historic Fort Pickering ruins.

And about those “fort ruins”… 😂

I was expecting A FORT. Something dramatic. Something worthy of pulling out the camera.

What did we find?

🧱 Like three stone walls being slowly eaten alive by vegetation. 😂

The fort may have been underwhelming, but Winter Island absolutely wasn’t.

We found a quiet little rocky spot where I could finally put my feet in the Atlantic 🌊, enjoyed some gorgeous coastal views, and somehow I caught the most unexpected little-mermaid/Ariel moment of Bella on the rocks. 🧜‍♀️✨

Sometimes the thing you went looking for isn’t the thing that makes the memory.

Fort: meh. 😂
Views: beautiful.
Ocean moment: worth it.
Unexpected photos: priceless. 🖤

🖤 If you love Halloween… this place belongs on your Salem bucket list.

Vintage masks, classic monsters, horror movie nostalgia, and Halloween history all under one roof. It honestly feels like walking into October. 🎃👻

Whether you’re a lifelong Halloween lover or just looking for something unique in Salem, this is absolutely worth the stop!

Dad reppin' Bella Betts Motorsports in Salem, at Old Burying Point Cemetery, the oldest cemetery in Salem and one of the oldest in the United States. Fun fact: there are 700 headstones but estimated to be over 3000 bodies buried. All the headstones are placed with their backs facing the memeorial for the 12 victims of the trials, signifying the whole town of Salem turned their backs on them.
