The Amalfi Coast in summer is dreamy… but let’s talk about the reality. 🇮🇹✨
Those iconic cliffside villages, sparkling Mediterranean waters, and impossibly beautiful views? Absolutely worth dreaming about.
But in July and August, the Amalfi Coast can also mean crowds, packed roads, busy beaches, long waits, and significantly higher prices. Sometimes, the most beautiful trip isn’t about following the most famous itinerary, it’s about knowing where else to look. 👀
If you’re craving authentic experiences, incredible local food, and extraordinary natural beauty without quite the same level of summer crowds, here are three destinations I’d put on your radar:
🇮🇹 Puglia, Italy - Think charming whitewashed towns, gorgeous coastline, family-run trattorias, olive groves, and some of the best food in southern Italy.
🇭🇷 Korčula Island, Croatia - A beautiful Adriatic escape with crystal-clear water, historic villages, local wines, fresh seafood, and stunning landscapes that invite you to slow down.
🇮🇹 Cefalù, Sicily — A picture-perfect coastal town where golden beaches meet a charming historic center, Sicilian cuisine, and spectacular views from the surrounding mountains.
The Amalfi Coast may be iconic, but fantastic views don’t belong to just one destination. 🌊✨
And that’s exactly why I love creating customized trips and finding the places that fit you, rather than simply sending you where everyone else is going.
