Class 3/4 rapids on The Kicking Horse River in Golden, BC
This experience was no joke, but a ton of fun.
La Unica Travel recommends using experienced guides through
and asking for Bill if you can get him! Bill is highly experienced and gives the correct amount of reality with encouragement to help you feel comfortable and confident as you approach the larger rapids. This was an absolute hit for the Gen Zalphas and they are already looking for their next river adventure.

The KOA in West Glacier is one of the best campgrounds I’ve ever stayed. They are only 5 minutes from the park entrance. They have an outdoor cafe that is open for all three meals (food was excellent) with a beautiful ambiance overlooking the mountains. They even have an outdoor fireplace with floor heaters to accommodate for the cooler days. The Bear Stream bar (designed from an old airstream) mixes up signature cocktails on the lawn while guests listen to live music every night, sitting by the many gas fire pits. There is a kids pool, (perfect) and an adults only pool, plus hot tub and sauna, (more perfect). The bathrooms are clean and the showers are hot. They host many additional events for adults, (distillery tasting) and kids, (hot air balloon event) There is a huge playground that is updated for the kids too. All the kids bring their bikes and ride around like they own the place, good clean 80’s style camping fun, (excellent)!

It takes a lot of careful planning to curate an epic 3 week adventure to the national parks plus Banff! The teens have grown and now have more patience and resilience for all the challenges that a road trip presents. If you are looking to get your teens off of their devices and more engaged in everyday life, take them on an adventure! Planning adventures is overwhelming. That is where I come in. I’m happy to help! I make the process seamless so you can sit back and enjoy the ride!

Glacier National Park has a bucket list hike called Grinnell Glacier Hike. It is an all day hike, about 10 miles. You can make it shorter, message me for the details. This was a win with the zalphas, and a memory none of us will ever forget.

We took the red bus tour from west glacier to Logan pass today. It was a great experience and the teens loved the change of pace from hiking. We were able to view all the scenery from the comfort of a historic red convertible bus that looks like an antique car. Michael, our tour guide was young and relatable for the Gen Zalphas. I would definitely recommend him as a tour guide to make the experience even better.

Hiking Mount Washburn, Yellowstone. Incredible views and great conversations, from different species of moths to politics you will learn something new about your teens every time you hit the trails.

Yellowstone is so unique. Today we searched for wolves in Lamar Valley, no wolves but we did see many bison and a coyote. Then we drove to this gem, called the Grand Canyon on Yellowstone. We hiked down into the canyon for this incredible view. Yellowstone has so much diversity.

Get your teens outside and in nature. Skip the cookie cutter all inclusive resort and do something more adventurous. They may complain at first, but then their brains will start to detox from all the noise and they find themselves at peace. It takes a day or two off the devices to notice the transition. Yellowstone is an excellent option for all families looking to connect and connect with nature. It can be as adventurous as you would like. The wildlife cannot be beat within the US.

A Yellowstone tradition, Old Faithful. Tip: enter the park in the late afternoon to evening hours to avoid heavy crowds. This is also a hit with the Gen Alpha’s because, ya know, they want to sleep until 11am anyway. You will see a lot of animals at dusk as well. Yesterday we saw, a black bear, bison, and elk just on our drive back to our campsite.
