When you go on a cruise, where are you eating? Are you a Main Dining Room dinner diner? Is Specialty Dining your favorite? Do you skip both and eat buffet-style in the Windjammer?

We are a Main Dining Room type of family! We thoroughly enjoy a sit-down breakfast in the MDR and enjoy having the same waiters for dinner each night! (We did try Samba Grill during our last cruise on the Allure and the meats were incredible!)

Drop your dining style below!

Allure of the Seas: Day 6 - Cabo Rojo, Dominican Republic ⛱️

We started our morning out with a nice breakfast and a trip to the rock wall (of course!) and then prepared to visit Cabo Rojo!

This was a new port for us and we were very excited to check it out as we had heard that it was "carnival themed" and "mostly free"!

As we got off the ship, there were a variety of really cute buildings and an awesome map of the port (see picture!). The "Circus Plaza" was truly filled with a variety of activities and a pirate ship ride that were free! The kids had a fun time playing at the attractions.

There were also a bunch of very nice pool areas and a lazy river. This was also all free! They had a few bars and places to grab some food, but they were VERY busy!

My only complaint for this island was that there is VERY limited shade. Dan charged through the port without us on a mission to find a shaded place to rest during the day. He, successfully, obtained a shaded table in the water.

Overall, this was a really fun port and we enjoyed the water options and activities! They do have some room for improvement, but I believe they are still building and expanding this port, so I am excited to see what it looks like next time!

Let me know if you have any questions about this new port!

We also went to see The Magic Dave Show - y'all. HANDS down the best magic show we have ever seen! The whole family (and audience) was belly laughing the whole time and Collin was chosen to go up on stage. It was a hilarious and truly magical show!! Highly recommend if he is ever on your ship!

Allure of the Seas: Day 5 - Aruba ⛱️

After getting off the ship, we waited in the line and took a taxi to Eagle Beach. It, honestly, wasn't my favorite (we had gone to Baby Beach last time) because it was very touristy - the beach chairs and umbrellas were RIDICULOUSLY expensive, there was one small restaurant and bar that were PACKED with people, the restrooms were busy, etc. The water and beach itself were fine, but in terms of the "extras", it wasn't my favorite!

We got back on the ship in the afternoon, showered, and grabbed a quick bite from the Dog House (customizable hot dog grab and go restaurant), rode the carousel a few more times and had dinner in the MDR.

The kids were VERY excited to do Battle for Planet Z - it was a laser tag battle located in Studio B. It was a very cool, inflatable maze where players are divided into two teams (randomly!). It had a blacklight, so I recommend wearing dark clothes or prepare to stand out! There wasn't a long line nor a lot of reservations, so we were able to do this multiple times! Highly recommend as it was fun for the whole family!

Allure of the Seas: Day 4 - Curaçao

This is one adorable island! To tour this island, we booked RCI's Willemstad Trolley Train to get a true feel for the history and architecture! It was only a one-hour tour, so we were able to grab a taxi to Mambo Beach! It was a nice and protected area to swim and we were able to rent (affordable!) beach loungers to truly relax! We had lunch at the beach and then grabbed a taxi for the trip back to port. We were able to walk through some shops near the ship to purchase some souvenirs and our bottle of Blue Curaçao (we also bought banana and cherry to try too!) to take home.

Back on the ship, we showered off the sand and enjoyed a nice dinner in the MDR then an early bedtime to prepare for our arrival in Aruba on Day 5!

Allure of the Seas: Day 3

Where all of my Nosey Nellys at 🧐? I am always incredibly curious about how things work and what the behind the scenes look like, so Dan and I did a Behind the Waves Tour (I had done one previously with my mom on the Symphony and wanted Dan to get to experience this behind the scenes look). We toured restricted areas including the galleys, I-95 (the crew corridor), laundry and waste management, the engineering room, and the Bridge! Let me know if you have any specific questions! I could talk about this tour for HOURS 😂

After we rejoined the family, we watched a parade on the Royal Promenade, rode the carousel (again!), and continually searched for ducks!

It was formal night, so we spiffed ourselves up and enjoyed a nice dinner - I had chicken cordon bleu, which was fabulous!

Allure of the Seas: Day 2

We opted to have breakfast in the Main Dining Room and I was THRILLED to be reunited with their delicious french toast (IYKYK)! While the Windjammer has a nice breakfast buffet, the MDR is such a nice, relaxing way to start the day.

During one of our quick stops at our room, we found some gifted duck earrings for Evelyn. I ALWAYS try to join our cruise sailing's Facebook group (if you search for your ship and date of embarkation, you will usually find a group related to your specific sailing filled with fellow passengers who organize events, duck trades, etc.) and found a woman who had made duck earrings. I told her how adorable they were and that we would be on the lookout, but she insisted that my duck-loving, ear-pierced daughter NEEDED some and that she would drop them off at our room! She gifted Evie THREE pairs - see her rocking the pink ones below!

We filled our day with activities: climbing wall, ice skating, and swimming! If you know our family, you know that our kids spend a LOT of time on ice skates and it was HILARIOUS to watch them skating on Studio B's ice - it was soft and the borrowed skates blades did NOT meet Collin's requirements. The struggle was real 🤪

For dinner, we sent the kids with some family while Dan and I joined Mark and Donna at the Samba Grill (specialty dining restaurant located in the Solarium Bistro). Both couples were celebrating anniversaries on this trip, so we opted to celebrate with a nice dinner. I found the buffet style slightly underwhelming and a little odd since there was also a table service. BUT the table service with the meats was phenomenal. The variety of hors d'ouevres, meats, and desserts was lovely.
