Our Christmas adventure begins at Chicago O’Hare with a nonstop overnight Lufthansa flight to Frankfurt.
Tues., Dec. 1
Arrive in Germany and meet our Tour Manager before traveling through the beautiful Rhine River Valley to historic Trier. Settle into our hotel and enjoy dinner together as our European Christmas adventure begins!
Wed., Dec. 2 — Trier
Discover Germany’s oldest city on a guided tour featuring the Porta Nigra, Hauptmarkt, Cathedral of St. Peter, and Liebfrauenkirche. Then soak up the magic of the Trier Christmas Market, with twinkling stalls, Glühwein, traditional potato cakes, and freshly baked gingerbread.
Thurs., Dec. 3
Cross into Luxembourg to explore its beautiful Old Town, Grand Ducal Palace, and the spectacular Chemin de la Corniche. Enjoy panoramic views and free time at the Luxembourg City Christmas Market before returning to Trier.
Fri., Dec. 4
Cruise through the spectacular Rhine Gorge, surrounded by historic castles, before visiting the charming wine village of Rüdesheim and its famous Drosselgasse. Continue through the picturesque Neckar River Valley to romantic Heidelberg.
Sat., Dec. 5
Explore Heidelberg’s atmospheric Old Town, historic university, Student Prison, Market Square, and iconic Old Bridge. Then spend the afternoon enjoying Heidelberg’s wonderful Christmas Market and festive holiday atmosphere.
Sun., Dec. 6
Visit magnificent Heidelberg Castle, overlooking the city and Neckar River, including the enormous Great Wine Barrel and German Pharmacy Museum. Descend by funicular and enjoy the rest of the day exploring Heidelberg at your own pace.
Mon., Dec. 7
Cross into France for a guided tour of Strasbourg’s enchanting Old Town and magnificent Gothic Cathedral. Wander among picturesque canals and half-timbered houses, experience its world-renowned Christmas Market, then continue into Switzerland and beautiful Lucerne.
Tues., Dec. 8
Explore Lucerne’s charming Old Town, famous Chapel Bridge, and moving Lion Monument. Enjoy free time for shopping and the Christmas Market before a festive Swiss evening at Stadtkeller, featuring traditional cuisine, yodeling, Alpine horns, and flag spinning.
Wed., Dec. 9
Travel to Zurich for our nonstop flight home to Chicago, bringing an unforgettable European Christmas adventure to a close — and taking home wonderful holiday memories along the way.
