We just got back from a family vacation to Disneyland Resort in California!

It was so different than Walt Disney World! We loved the special moments around every corner, and it was so beautiful.

My son was a little scared of the Mad Tea Cups, so we watched my husband and daughter go together. While we played outside together enjoying the pretty sunny day, Alice and the Mad Hatter appeared! They chatted with guests, waved, and then rode the ride together!!

Our trip was filled with special (unplanned!!!) moments like this and it was one of my favorites we have ever taken!!

Bluey’s Wild World at Animal Kingdom: What’s new and how to experience it:

🩵 Bluey and Bingo’s dance party debuted last week at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. At launch, access required a Virtual Queue in the My Disney Experience app with limited drop times—no standby allowed.
🩵 Disney just announced a switch to a standby line beginning June 2. To attend: take the Wildlife Express Train to Conservation Station (Rafiki’s Planet Watch), join the standby queue, and you’ll be seated as space opens for each show.

Why this matters for your trip:

🩵 Disney changes operations quickly, and those shifts affect your timing, transit, and what you can realistically fit into a day—especially with little ones eager to see Bluey.
🩵 I monitor these updates daily and adjust client plans so they don’t miss new offerings or lose time to avoidable lines.

What I’m doing for my travelers:

🩵 Re-checking park-day plans and travel pacing around Rafiki’s Planet Watch.
🩵 Updating itineraries with best times to ride the Wildlife Express Train, likely crowd patterns for the first week of standby, and backup options if the line is long.
🩵 Noting tips like arriving earlier show blocks, snack/break windows nearby, and ways to pair this with Affection Section or Animation Experience to make the train trip extra worthwhile.

All resort pools at the Walt Disney World resorts are themed and can be a special add-on to your vacation, but they're not all the same! Here are the basics!

💦 All Walt Disney World resort pools are heated year-round, though there may be closures or changes due to weather.

🌊 Walt Disney World Moderate and Deluxe Resorts have water slides!

🧜‍♀️ Several WDW resorts have water splash and play areas for little kids, including Art of Animation Resort, Polynesian Village Resort, Grand Floridian Resort, and more.

💓 All WDW Resort pools provide complimentary life vests for kids.

🩳 Most Walt Disney World resorts have at least one quiet pool. These still allow children but have a more relaxed vibe and don't host louder events like pool games.

🏊‍♂️ Disney takes safety very seriously, and lifeguards at the feature pools have extensive education in water safety. You'll see them all over and paying close attention to what's happening in the water!

🍹 All the WDW resorts have a pool bar nearby. Some serve hot food too, like burgers, while some just have cold items like salads and sandwiches.

🐠 You can start using resort amenities on your check-in day, even if your room isn't ready yet. Bell services can hold bags!

My family is SO EXCITED about the new Cars area coming to enhance Frontierland at Walt Disney World! Disney has released some more information about this new area that is in development!

Cars from around the country are fueling up to be the wildest racer in the “wheelderness.” Of course, Disney knows that fans are curious to see how the exciting new backdrop for the big rally race will fit into the waters, landscapes, and storytelling at Magic Kingdom.

Today, we are excited to share that Piston Peak National Park will continue the sweeping storytelling tradition that has crossed Liberty Square and Frontierland since opening day.

Welcome to Piston Peak National Park!

Imagine an awe-inspiring wilderness filled with towering trees, snowcapped mountains, breathtaking waterfalls, roaring rivers and impressive geysers. While fictional, Piston Peak is inspired by the Rocky Mountain area and the history and iconic sights of the American Frontier and its national parks.

Inside Piston Peak, guests will be able to see and explore the visitor lodge, Ranger HQ, trails and more all set within the Disney and Pixar “Cars” universe. To make sure these buildings fit naturally within the surrounding majestic landscapes, Imagineers are using a style of architecture called “Parkitecture,” which was developed by the National Park Service to create structures that harmonize with the natural environment.

From the outside, trees will provide a natural barrier between the off-road rally and other parts of Frontierland and Liberty Square. Rugged mountains with dramatic peaks will be nestled along a calming waterway across from Grizzly Hall and soaring geysers from the famed Big Thunder Mountain Railroad will stretch into the trails of our off-road rally.
