Another flight, another delay on American Airlines. Getting tuff chasing status when 150 minutes lay over might not be enough. Still hoping to make Nashville in the morning for the Safari Club International show setup!

Well I continued my 59 and fading fast tour this month. As some of you know, I generally head to South America each winter fishing. This year it took a couple tries to get down. I made it to Seattle, to have my flights canceled due to weather. Returned to warm Alaska for six days and this time I made it to the Orinoco River basin. Think upper Amazon River. Here is ten things I mostly accomplished.
1st - Didn’t get kidnapped
2nd - Visited a new country- Columbia very near Venezuela. Might have even been fishining in Venezuela waters.
3rd - Caught my first Payara also called a vampire fish. My wife and kids have caught them on previous trip
4th - Caught a very nice Pacu
5th - Caught a personal best 18lbs peacock bass
6th - practiced my Spanish. I was the only gr**go of 75 people on one of my flights.
7th - Failed to spot a Jaguar. I did see a Jaguarundi. Look up photos of this cool medium size cat.
8th - Found a new fishing location for the next trip. Italy fly fishing for marbled trout and European pike. One of the clients I was staying with is a guide in Italy.
9th - Booked a few clients for GoneAgain Charters!
10th - I didn’t get bit by a viper snake but I do have a lot of bug bites.

Here are the new halibut regulations for our area. No halibut on Wendsdays and most Tuesdays. All fishermen must buy a halibut stamp, if they plan to fish for halibut each day. The charter companies are required to purchase than resell the stamp to the clients.
