Everybody, I just want to share something with y’all.
This is honestly one of the most amazing things I have ever read written about what we do and, more importantly, the happiness we get to bring to people.
It’s a little bit of a read, but I promise it’s worth taking the time to go through. It truly encompasses what we strive to provide for every single person who steps aboard one of our charters.
Yes, this is how we make a living and pay our bills, but the real reward is so much more than that. It’s the smiles, the excitement, the memories, the discoveries, and watching people experience something they may never have imagined doing.
This is exactly why we do what we do. ❤️

I've always had a fascination for shark teeth. One of those "kid fascinations" that recently emerged from my consciousness last year. My grandfather on my dad's side loved going to Myrtle Beach and through the years I inherited his small collection which I gave to my grandson a few years ago. Well....fast forward, I wanted to find some nice ones of my own and after months of research last year, I saw that chartering a boat to an island by Seas the Day Charleston was probably the best bet for quantity and quality. This is now our 4th time to the island, 2nd guided. The size this time was super impressive. Call it luck, the winds, the tides, moon and/or the stars...but everything seemed to line up this time. Beforehand, our guide was already preparing us with the "we've had a few slow days lately speech". We've been on a few of those. I get it. I've gotten back on the boat with everybody else finding great stuff...but us. So when I say "I get it", its not just hollow platitudes.
Without the sharp eye, experience and strategy of our guide Heather and the ease in which our boat Captain (Captain Demal) makes his way to the island and back with professionalism, knowledge and safety, none of this would have been possible.
We are not great shark tooth hunters by any means. This is not something many of us are inherently good at, but Seas the Day makes it come together for people like us (from WV) that just love the beach, love to look, love the process, and even if you are trying to train your eyes to be better at this and the fun of building a collection of shark teeth, Seas the Day makes finding shark teeth a reality for those not in the know. There is not one day that's a "gimme" out there, but these fine folks bring their knowledge and experience to tip the scales in their favor.
As a side note, I always wondered...what was the journey that these teeth took to get into my hand? From the time it was in that sharks mouth to fossilization to making its way up the ocean floor just how?? How did we meet at this point in time at this exact spot? The odds are phenomenal that I have these teeth in our hands. And that, for me is part of the fascination.
Well, we've nursed our feet, we have aches and pains and just now starting to stir the morning after and up at Myrtle Beach now. Time to put our beach shoes back on and catch the falling tide. We may be moving slower, but we'll be out there.
