So as everyone knows
I love to travel! Here I am trying to help other people do it on a budget as well!
Because as mostly chad hears
“How much are we making”
“How do they afford it?”

Since I am the one doing the planning, the budget, and just picking the destinations he is always the wrong person to ask how I make it all work.

Recently I completed my (complete) first solo trip. Italy, Albania, and Romania. Did a little more off the beaten path, with the last 2 countries.

Here’s the story on how it started.
Chad had suggested me going on a trip for someone we both follow to a region of Italy we already were able to visit. I declined because I said the price was a lot for 5 days and did not include flights.
He said well. I’ll give you the $2000 and you complete a trip for yourself.

So. I did. I was able to complete 8 days 3 countries, 5 cities. INCLUDING ALL TRANSPORTATION, hotels, food, 1 tour, meals, and souvenirs. Everything for almost exactly $2000. (Including the freaking public transit from jfk 😒, what a rip off).
I will 100% do it again. Just based off where the direct flights take me to 💃🏼💃🏼.

Tirana is another world of its own. While beautiful, I’d travel south of the city as soon as landing.
I’d give the city a 3/10. There just is not enough to do in the city unless planning multiple day trips or spending all your money on a taxi to go 30 mins away. And that doesn’t happen when you want to stay WAY under budget. Staying in the city gave me the great option to eat traditional Albanian food.
🚌 Buses are unreliable. Buses going to other cities all leave from different stations and their transit website does not update often enough.
The good news is euros go far in currency. 💃🏼💃🏼

Bologna quickly made it to one of my top3 cities to see in Italy.

Basilica di San Petronio: free to enter without a guided tour.
1390 the construction started.
Was never intended to be a cathedral: was supposed to be the civic/ state and municipal temple. Was never fully finished!!
So beautiful.
It’s a must see!!

When you catch one way flight to France for $164. You use it as a layover!!! And come back to your favorite country.
(Least favorite city so far) but happy to be back.
Also. Enjoy the new toy (📸)
