This landmark U.S. Supreme Court case is the most important LGBTQ case since the marriage case
Equality Texas is hosting a briefing featuring legal experts, advocates, and business leaders about the importance of three landmark LGBTQ discrimination cases before the U.S. Supreme Court. On October 8, in a pivotal moment for LGBTQ Texans, the U.S. Supreme Court will consider how Title VII’s ban on workplace s*x discrimination protects LGBTQ people from discrimination on the basis of s*xual orientation or gender identity. Currently there are no explicit protections at the federal level and Texas is one of 28 states where there are no explicit statewide laws protecting people from discrimination on the basis of s*xual orientation or gender identity in employment, housing and public accommodations.
