We warn our guest that fish and shrimp may jump into the kayaks this time of year. That is exactly what happened numerous times during our tour this morning. All fish and shrimp were released unharmed.

Checking out the saltwater crocodiles during our pelagic birding excursion with the Los Buzos Resort. On this day we took a boat ride into some remote mangroves before venturing out into the pacific ocean to see pelagic birds, sea turtles, and whales.

During our visit to Panama for the Los Buzos Bird Watching Retreat at Los Buzos Resort. We had the incredible opportunity to visit a very small sea turtle rescue called Tortuga Alegre. It consisted of one family and a couple volunteers. Each night they walk the beaches in search of turtle nest and relocate the eggs to a safe place until they are ready to hatch. In this area the turtle nest are susceptible to poaching and heavy predation. We had the privilege of releasing two nest of baby turtles in hopes that a few of them will reach adulthood.

Hump day of our Panamanian birding trip Los Buzos Resort consisted of bay, mangroves swamp, and ocean cruise. On this cruise we saw all types of shore birds, raptors, parrots, parakeets, pelagic, turtles, whales, crocodiles, and numerous other species of animals. What a perfect day it was. Since it was hump day. We feel obligated to say some of the whales were hump back whales.
