Hydration

My family has been to Disney several times and our solution for reliable drinking water was always cases of water that we had delivered to our resort, well not anymore. We’ve learned there are two great options for getting free access to good drinking water, Water Bottle Refill Stations and quick service restaurants that have self-service soft drink dispensers.

Water Bottle Refill Stations are searchable within the My Disney Experience (MDE) app. Launch MDE, click the search option (second from the right), type “Water Bottle” and it’s the first thing that shows up (see pic). Tap that entry and then tap “Find on Map” and it will take you to the familiar overhead map of Disney with each Water Bottle Refill Station identified. I will say that Disney needs more of these stations at Magic Kingdom. Magic Kingdom has just 3, while Epcot has 8, Animal Kingdom has 5 and Hollywood Studios has 9. The water dispensed from these stations, while not ice cold is at least cool and it’s filtered so it tastes pretty good.

I like my water iced so my preference is the quick service restaurants that offer self-service soft drink dispensers. There you can get ice plus cold, filtered water. These can be somewhat trickier to find as not every quick service has a dispenser and there’s no way to search for it in MDE. At Magic Kingdom, Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Café has a self-service dispenser, at Hollywood Studios, the ABC Commissary has one and at Epcot the Connections Eatery has one. I don’t recall any of the quick service restaurants in Animal Kingdom having one. Another option, is any quick service that offers fountain sodas will also give you a cup of ice so you can grab that and then hit up a Water Bottle Refill Station to get your ice water fix.

Hope this helps you stay hydrated on those long hot days at Disney.
