Disney Cruise Line is coming back to NYC!! 🙌🏻

Now, we all know that I love everything Disney and Disney Cruise Line is no exception. But this is really big deal for residents of the Northeast. I run into situations all the time where clients want to sail in Disney Cruise Line but once you add in roundtrip flights to Florida or another port, it becomes out of reach.

Disney is a premium cruise product. Then add flights to Florida, baggage, a pre cruise hotel stay and airport transfers. That cruise is now thousands of dollars more than getting in the car and driving to a port in the Northeast.

Some other cruise lines have had an advantage with local families because of logistics. You can drive to the port in Boston, New York or New Jersey, and get on a beautiful ship. You can skip the cost of airfare, and possible delay/cancellation chaos.

Disney coming back to New York??
Well, well, well - this may have leveled the playing field a bit....

🚫airfare cost
🚫possible flight delays & cancellations the day before your cruise.
🚫baggage fees
🚫ground transportation costs

🚘 just get in your car, drive to NYC, and park in the garage right next to Pier 88!

Disney Cruise Line really is a step above:
✨Kids clubs are next level
✨Broadway-style shows
✨Character experiences
✨Soft drinks are included
✨Most room service is included
✨Rotational dining: your serving team rotates with you through 3 themed dining rooms.

A cruise from New York City is the opportunity for some of my Northeast families to try Disney Cruise Line - without airfare and other associated costs pushing the vacation out of budget.

Don’t say I didn’t warn you - Disney knows what they are doing. You just might find yourself booking another Disney Cruise Line vacation after you experience the magic onboard!

And selfishly, I am so darn excited! NYC is only a 4 hour drive for me… 😬

So excited!!! 😍

Let’s take a tour of a veranda stateroom on the Disney Wish!

A peek behind the curtain…

I have always traveled more often than most people I know, even before becoming a travel advisor in 2019.

What I think most people don’t realize is that I am working during my trips. I stay in hotels that I have not stayed in previously, I sail on new-to-me ships, and dine at restaurants I haven’t dined in. All this to better serve my clients.

🧳I take pictures of all the things, like laundry rooms and strollers
🧳I visit kids clubs on ships even though I don’t have a child that age
🧳 I ask questions so that I have the inside scoop
🧳 Explore new rides, attractions

I am not an order taker. I listen to clients’ wants, needs and dreams, then create the perfect trip for them!

**These are just a small handful of the pictures I took over my last trip to Disney World.

So earlier I said that today we go home…well best laid plans and all! But first…

Chad got up early and headed into Epcot for a bit (my annual pass expired last weekend). I packed up the room and got myself ready. When Chad returned we stored our bags with bell services. We had about an hour to kill so we wandered around the resort trying to find a place to sit with A/C. I really love Riviera except for its extreme lack of lobby space! Any time we walked through, there was no available seating.

Then it was finally time for our Topolinos breakfast reservation. I know everyone loves this character meal but for one reason or another, we’ve just never made it there. We loved everything about our experience!! The food was fantastic and the character interaction was fabulous. I really cannot recommend Topolinos for breakfast enough.

Afterwards we went out to the terrace to take in the views. Pretty cool that you could see much of Disney property from up there!

It was now time to retrieve our luggage and wait for Mears to pick us up. It was unusual but Mears was 30 mins late picking us up. We still had plenty of time at the airport.

We found our gate and grabbed a sandwich to share on the flight.

✨ Then the flight gods shined down on us! ✨ We volunteered to be bumped off our flight in exchange for $1600 in Southwest flight credits per person!! 🙌🏻

The catch is that they would fly us to Baltimore and we would fly back to Providence at 7am tomorrow. We were on our own to find a hotel. The only available hotels were 30 mins away from the airport.

So we are here in Bethesda having a 4 hour nap. Our Lyft driver graciously offered to pick us up at 4:30am for our return to the airport. ✈️

Even with paying for a hotel, 2 Lyft rides, extra parking fees for our car at home, and some extra food - we still made out like bandits with $3200 in Southwest credits!
