Every year we talk about New Year’s resolutions. Eat better. Move more. Slow down. Save money.

But I think traveling more deserves a spot on that list too. Not because it has to be big or expensive, but because getting away does something different. It gives you a break from the routine. It gives you something to look forward to. It gives you memories instead of just another checked box.

If you’re making a short list for the year ahead, maybe add one trip to it. A weekend away or a place you’ve always wanted to see. Something that feels fun and doable.

I’m taking my first international trip in 2026 - something I’ve been dreaming of for years.

Where to? Wednesday!

This week’s Where to? Wednesday takes us to the Pacific Coast to the charming city of Victoria, BC, Canada. Just a hop, skip, and a jump away from Seattle, this city is usually the final port of call on many Alaska cruises.

Unfortunately, most Alaska cruises only stop in Victoria for a few hours, so I recommend planning an extension to your cruise or a whole separate trip to make sure you experience everything Victoria has to offer!

If you’re a botanical lover like me, you’ll want to make sure you include stops at both Butchart Gardens and Victoria Butterfly Gardens 🌸🦋

Let’s talk about paying for your Walt Disney World vacation!

I get asked all the time about how to pay for a WDW vacation package. The great thing about Disney is that you do NOT have to pay for your package up front (except if you’re traveling within 30 days of booking). This allows you the flexibility to pay down your vacation as needed!

Something else to note is that you can make as many payments toward your vacation as you want. This is your own personal payment plan, and you do NOT have to take out a loan or pay interest!

Since we are now in the thick of fall, this week I’m highlighting somewhere that shows its best self in the fall: Asheville, North Carolina!

The “P” family is setting sail next spring on Royal Caribbean’s first Icon class ship, Icon of the Seas!! Sister to Star of the Seas, this ship is nothing short of incredible, and definitely lives up to her name.

This family is heading to Cozumel, Costa Maya, Roatán, and rounding it out with a stop at Perfect Day at CocoCay. While they will be exploring all of these ports, seeing all the tropical wildlife and foliage, they’ll also have two whole sea days to fully experience everything Icon has to offer.
