Have you ever wanted to know more about where you live? What did it look like hundreds (or even thousands) of years ago? Who lived there? Do they still? Nassau County DSA has partnered with the Sisters of St. Joseph, Brentwood, NY to plant a 0.4-acre Community Food Forest starting Spring 2021. The space will rely on the principles of a public “food forest”: a garden of perennial trees and shrubs with edible and medicinal benefits, whose design mimics a natural forest.

The Community Food Forest will have four main task forces: Outreach, Fundraising & Resource Procurement, Business Plan Writing, and Lease Agreement.
