Egret Baits Vudu Corks and Shrimp are a deadly combination. They catch it all, trout, drum, stripers and flounder. This was a nice 23” slot red. Both can be found locally at inshore_bait_and_tackle in New Bern and 3 Rivers Outdoor Co in Bayboro. THANK YOU JESUS!

Great morning of catching with my good friend Tim Casey.
Started out with a 16" trout on top water by Tim and I followed that up with missed trout blow up. That area fizzled out so we made a short run to another creek. GAME ON, we caught several quality drum slot drum, 20-24" and a few rats. We then left em chewing to check out an are for trout, just more slot drum and small blue fish. Left there and worked one more area for trout and finally, I hook up with a whopping 6" trout. Keep working it and yep, you guessed it more slot reds. All in all, we landed 20+ reds and two trout and two blues. Egret Baits popping cork with their shrimp did most the damage and the backwaterbanditslures’ Buttercup Original were the tickets. Great time with great friend and great reel drag screaming. THANK YOU JESUS!!

A little announcement!!! We are now partnering with Core Sound Custom Rods in their Guide Program. I have received two of their rods and had one gifted to me a year ago. I have put em to use catching trout Drum up to 25” and some nice flounder. They are much better than I had expected. Thanks Ben Willis!! Yes I am still pro staff with TFO Rods - Temple Fork Outfitters with their production rods. But as for custom rods, it will be CSCR!!

Doug, Maddie and I put a smack down on the flounder. I’m not sure how many we caught, but I would guess 30-40. Egret Baits Vudu jig heads and gulp shrimp were the ticket. Would have caught more, but the rain pushed us to waters that we wouldn’t have fished and away from some of our favorite areas. We did get to fish one of our favorite spots and found some nice ones and a 24” drum. Always good to fish with family. Sept is coming up, if you want to book a trip to catch some flounder and keep one, let me know.
