CDOT:
Motorists should expect a 45-minute traffic hold sometime between 8:30 a.m. and noon on Thursday, October 22. The hold is necessary for crews to remove the second truss of the old bridge on US 6 at Elk Creek.

Alternate Route: CDOT encourages motorists to use Interstate 70 to bypass the traffic hold during the bridge removal operation.

Please plan ahead and allow extra travel time.

CDOT:

Weather permitting: Asphalt paving operations are scheduled this week on the east and west approaches to the vehicular bridge

TRAFFIC IMPACTS: Home owners in the vicinity of the project can expect the continued use of the roller and paving equipment to begin asphalt paving operations today, Monday, Sept. 28 and Wednesday, Sept. 30. Traffic on the detour will be one-lane alternating so minimal delays may be expected but some noise and vibration from the roller will be occurring due to the paving operations.

If weather holds this week, and barring any unforeseen circumstances, the project team anticipates opening the vehicular bridge sometime in early October to traffic.

TRAFFIC IMPACTS at Elk Creek Bridge

Paving operations will take place at the Elk Creek Bridge starting on Monday, September 21. Motorists should expect traffic impacts during working hours, including possible delays, lane shifts and reduced speeds as crews complete the paving work. Paving operations should be completed by the end of the week.

Please slow down, follow all traffic control devices and flagger directions, and allow extra time for your commute. Drivers are encouraged to use caution when traveling through the work zone and give crews plenty of room to work.
