When your daughter is studying abroad in Italy, what do you do? You meet her there when she’s done and turn it into a three-week family adventure! ❤️

This customized itinerary has such a fun mix of experiences — incredible art and history, a Tuscan wine tasting and farm lunch, ancient ruins, a hands-on Italian cooking experience, time on the Mediterranean, Venetian traditions, and plenty of opportunities to enjoy amazing food, beautiful scenery and a little chocolate along the way. 🍷🍝🍫

And, of course, there’s plenty of time built in to wander, explore and make their own discoveries along the way.

I'll admit it...I have a soft spot for cruises sailing out of Galveston. My very first cruise departed from there, and it completely hooked me on cruising. 🌴

On that trip, I spent the day relaxing in a private beach cabana, went cave tubing through Belize, and even got to hold a sloth in Roatán. It was one of those vacations that left me thinking, "When can I do this again?"

Fast forward to this week...

I've been researching Spring Break 2027 cruises for clients, and I noticed something interesting. For many of the dates I checked, airfare from Michigan to Houston (for Galveston cruises) was coming in at about half the cost of flights to Florida.

That means your vacation budget can go toward the fun stuff instead of just getting there! Maybe that's a balcony cabin, an unforgettable shore excursion, or an extra day away.

Even better, there are several fantastic 5-, 6-, and 7-night itineraries sailing from Galveston during Spring Break to destinations like Cozumel, Costa Maya, and Roatán.

Sometimes the best vacation value isn't the cheapest cruise—it's looking at the total trip cost. It's little discoveries like this that make researching trips so much fun. 😊

One of my favorite parts of being a travel advisor is solving the puzzle.

Recently, I planned a Spring Break vacation for two moms and their daughters who wanted to combine a Disney cruise with a visit to Disneyland. Their biggest priorities? Keep it as stress-free as possible and avoid renting a car in Southern California.

Instead of flying into Los Angeles and battling traffic, I designed an itinerary that flowed naturally from start to finish:

✈️ Fly into San Diego
🏨 Spend the night on the waterfront near the cruise terminal
🚢 Sail on the Disney Wonder
🚆 Take the scenic Pacific Surfliner train along the coast to Anaheim
🎢 Stay within walking distance of Disneyland
✈️ Fly home from John Wayne Airport

Every piece was chosen to make the trip feel easy—from minimizing transfers to avoiding long drives and ending the vacation just minutes from the airport.

Could they have booked all of those pieces themselves? Absolutely.

But knowing how those pieces fit together—and finding a smoother, less stressful way to travel—is where a travel advisor adds value.

Sometimes the best itinerary isn't just about where you go. It's about how effortless the journey feels along the way.

One of the fun things about planning trips is that there usually isn't just one right answer.

I'm working on an Italy itinerary right now, and it got me thinking...

If you had one day in Tuscany, what would you choose?

🍷 Wineries, wine tasting, and lunch overlooking the vineyards

🏰 Medieval towns like Siena and San Gimignano

🚗 A scenic drive through the countryside with no real plan

I think my answer changes depending on the trip I'm planning—
and that's honestly one of my favorite parts of what I do. The best itinerary isn't always the one that checks off the most places—it's the one that fits the people taking the trip.

These tabs may look like organized chaos, but each one represents a piece of the puzzle—comparing lodging options, researching excursions, checking transportation, mapping routes, and making sure everything comes together into a trip that fits my clients' travel style and goals.

One of my favorite parts of being a travel advisor isn't actually booking the trip—it's designing it.

Some vacations are perfect as a cruise or an all-inclusive resort. Others deserve a completely personalized approach, where every destination, hotel, and experience is chosen with the traveler in mind.

That's what I love most about what I do: taking someone's ideas, interests, and travel style and turning them into an itinerary that feels like it was created just for them.
