INVERSE SPEEDBUMP 5.8% abv IPA (Immaculate Pothole Ale) with Galaxy and Southern Tropic is now available in crowlers to go!
Alright kids, gather 'round. It's story time. Many months ago we had a s&wb crew show up and cut this gigantic hole into our street. Used to be that you could hear rushing water just under the bricks and gravel and the roadway would flood upwards of 20" during even a moderate rain. It was pretty annoying. Well, the city came and did their thing with this big digging machine and dudes in orange vests and such and they left this gaping maw of a hole on our street (the pictures truly don't do it justice cuz you can fit a car in this beast). I'm not really sure why they never came back to pour concrete or replace the bricks they had cut out - they did dump a truckload of gravel into the pit but people drive so fast down Felicity that within a few weeks, their cars had kicked out 90% of the loose rocks of said pit onto the sidewalk. Two weeks ago someone was driving so fast that when they hit the divet wall they popped a tire (the neighbors were all chuckling). Anyway, last week someone decided to drop four uniquely different styles of orange safety cones in it. Fixed it New Orleans style! I can't stop laughing. It's my favorite thing right now and I made this beer to commemorate my beautiful inverse speedbump. And so we're clear, I really love this monstrous chasm, I'm not complaining, and I want it to stay because it makes people slow down; although I must admit that sitting on my stoop with a cold beer and listening to folks bottom out while barrelling down the road was the guiltiest of pleasures...
Oh and the beer is tasty, too!
