We also offer a boutique event planning service, unforgettable corporate dinners and impactful team building programs In 1986 I had my first bowl of crawfish ettouffé in a small town in Northern NJ called Myersville at the eponymous Myersville Inn; I was 14 years old. The chef was a displaced Cajun who turned what was formerly a red sauce Italian joint into a Cajun/Creole restaurant. I was a huge

hit, and quickly became my favorite restaurant in town. I had no idea that the spicy, redolent etouffee and warm hushpuppies would foreshadow the events of my life to come. Eventually, I too became a chef, and was working in Manhattan when I met a person who would change my life forever, a statuesque Cajun woman with piercing blue eyes. After a whirlwind romance we moved to New Orleans together, where I continued on even after the romance sputtered out. New Orleans, as it turned out, was actually the lady I was always meant to meet -- my muse, my inspiration. I immersed myself deeply in its cuisine and culture, working in kitchens, writing about and photographing its people, and devouring its food like that etouffeé I had all those years ago. Passions change in life, but my passion for the city has only grown. As an award winning chef and photojournalist, I want visitors to our city to experience it in a way that is organic and sustainable, as well as deeply pleasurable. I want them to learn the city and its people. I want them to have an experience that is genuine. I want them to see what I fell in love with years ago, before I even knew how it was going to turn out.

You see a lot of things on the internet that aren’t true. But this pot of red beans was the truth. I meant to make it on Monday but got caught up in other things. As a chef, you don’t always get to make your own schedule. But when I did get around to it it was deeply rewarding. Kind of analogous to the city of New Orleans. It reveals itself slowly.

Pizza Delicious in the Bywater neighborhood serves up one of the best slices around. It was ranked 31 out of 50 nationwide by 50 Top Pizzas USA and serves a truly authentic NYC slice. We love featuring and supporting neighborhood restaurants. If you want to bite into something different than traditional New Orleans fare hit the link in our bio.

The influx of Mexican immigrants who helped rebuild New Orleans after hurricane Katrina has also led to a vibrant Mexican food scene in the City. From taco trucks to brick and mortars, the options are plentiful and delicious.

Some stories are best told surrounded by bourbon barrels.

During the "Days Between" JazzFest, Accidental Cajun Experiences brought the first live Beyond Bourbon Street podcast to

Head Distiller Luka Cutura shared that he name 73 Distilling comes from the 73 neighborhoods of New Orleans. And they're naming their spirits after those neighborhoods — Black Pearl Rum, Gentilly Gin, Bywater Bourbon. Every bottle a love letter to a different corner of this city.

That's the kind of story you don't find on a bar menu. This is exactly why we do what we do. New Orleans isn't just food and music — it's the people behind the product. The makers. The storytellers.

And it's why ACE is evolving. Alongside our intimate neighborhood tours, we're now designing boutique events for private groups — chef-curated evenings in culturally significant venues, custom experiences woven through the neighborhoods most visitors never find. The same authenticity. A bigger canvas.

More experiences like this coming. Stay close. Visit our website and sign up for our inaugural news letter which is launching soon. Visit our website and be the first to know about some exciting weekend and evening experiences we will be sharing soon! Link in comments.

While New Orleans isn’t known for its BBQ, we do have some excellent choices. One is The Joint. And on our Bywater tour you get to sample it. Our tours focus on the spots locals go. To find out more click the link in our bio.

It rained on our heads but not our spirits. My son will always remember his first Jazz Fest. If you’ve never been to the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival it’s a must do. My preference is to go on the Thursday of the final weekend. All the great music and food without the crowds. Make sure to visit all the stages and eat all the food.
