The J Family is heading to Walt Disney World this October for a fun fall getaway! 🎃🍂🏰

They’ll be staying at the beautiful Island Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort 🌺🌴 and enjoying 2 park days PLUS Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party! 👻🎃

And yes… we made sure to secure those Halloween Party tickets before they sell out! 🙌 Because if you know you want to experience the party, you definitely don’t want to wait until it’s too late!

I can already picture them strolling down Main Street, U.S.A. surrounded by Mickey pumpkins and all the fall decorations, enjoying the festive atmosphere, and of course… watching the Boo-to-You Parade! 🎃🧡👻

They have:
• Their own lounge
• Planned activities
• Chill space
• Teen-only deck access on some ships

It’s supervised — but not hovering.

And honestly? Teens make friends fast onboard. ✨

My family and I are headed to Walt Disney World August 19th–23rd for a little family getaway! ✈️✨ We’re so excited for a few days of sunshine, family time, and of course… plenty of Disney magic! 💙🏰

📧 While I’m away, I’ll be checking messages and responding as I’m able, but I’ll be taking some time to enjoy this trip with my family. I’ll be fully back in the office Monday, August 24th!

Edge (Ages 11-14) is specifically designed for tweens — and Disney absolutely nails this age.

It’s not babyish.
It’s not overly teen-focused.

It’s:
• Lounge-style seating
• Video games
• Organized activities
• Social space

That in-between age can be hard — and Edge makes it feel cool. ✨

Luggage Night Before — Yes or No? 🧳

This is always debated.

The night before disembarkation, you choose:

Leave your luggage outside your stateroom
• No hauling big bags to breakfast
• You walk off lighter
• Your luggage is organized in the terminal by character tag

OR

Keep your luggage with you
• Full control of your belongings
• You can leave as soon as your group is called
• But you’re hauling everything through breakfast and off the ship

We left ours out — and it was incredibly smooth. We went to breakfast relaxed, grabbed our bags in the terminal, and were through quickly.

But honestly? I can see either way depending on your family.

If you have early flights and pack light — carrying off might make sense.
If you want an easier, less chaotic morning — checking it is so nice.

This is one of those small decisions I walk my cruise families through ahead of time so disembarkation morning feels simple, not stressful.

Because even the last day should feel easy. ✨

The night before, you decide whether to:
• Put luggage outside your room for collection
OR
• Keep it with you and self-carry off the ship

If you check it, your bags will be organized in the terminal under your assigned character tag.

You must:
• Have your Key to the World card
• Have your entire party present

We were through customs quickly and smoothly.

Disney keeps things organized until the very last step — which matters when you’re traveling with kids. ✨

Whether it’s princess, knight, or pirate — it’s just as magical at sea as it is in the parks.

Appointments open before sailing — and they absolutely can book up.

Walking around the ship in full pirate gear on Pirate Night? Elite Disney energy.
