Admittedly, I don’t see Broadway (or off/off-off Broadway) shows often enough but when I heard that Billy Crystal’s 860 was doing one, I bought a ticket as soon as they went on sale - I honestly didn’t even know what it was going be about.
“When Harry Met Sally” is my favorite movie of all time, I’ve watched it when I was very happy, very sad and everything in between and I have no clue how often I’ve seen it.
This play doesn’t have too much to do with that movie but it shows why I like Billy Crystal so much!
860 actually is the area code for Pacific Palisades and he talked about his family’s house burning down to the ground in minutes, yet finds uplifting bits and pieces about it and he goes back to how he ended up there in the first place.
Lots of new (to me) info about his life, who played a crucial part (Meg Ryan aside, Muhammad Ali, for example!) and what shaped him to being what we love him for. You’ll laugh, cry (look at my eyes, bring tissues!) and just be amazed by this monologue!
Go see this play and thank me later!

Most of you have not known me long enough to know that, back in yesteryear (aka 2006), I spent about five months in Beijing doing an internship. I just dug through some old pics to show you where I lived an a bit of what Beijing looked like back then. When I got notified about my internship, I knew immediately that I wanted to live in a Hutong - this sounded like a great idea, except that I arrived in February and don´t think I have ever been this cold again in my life - whether it was indoors or outdoors, it was cold. Pretty much the only exception was our office.
Next June (not February!), I am taking a group back to China (actually two trips, one to Beijing-Xian-Shanghai, the other one to Yunnan), including Beijing and I am certain it will be like being in a different place or planet!
Don´t worry, we will stay in much more fancy places! Send me a dm for the link to the trips!

We had an incredible meal at Fabrik | Plant-Based Micro Tasting Restaurant almost two years ago and I just found out the were awarded a Michelin ⭐️! That fennel korokke and the brioche with bitters were personal highlights.
Very well deserved, team Fabrik!
I highly recommend visiting if you find yourself in Austin, Texas!

During next week’s SoHo Film Festival, a German movie featuring a vegan protagonist will be shown, here’s the description - I have not seen the movie yet but sounds intriguing!

Liz has not left her Berlin apartment in over a year due to agoraphobia and panic attacks, turning her home into both a safe space and a prison. When a wedding invitation from her former best friend arrives, she gives therapy another chance, with 30 days to step back into the world outside.
