Looking back on 2025... a year of growth, of change, and of major, life-expanding travel.
A year ago today, I was sitting in someone else’s apartment, not far from where I sit writing this post today. I rented an airbnb for the week between Christmas and New Year’s, spending the week solo in Paris to get a feel for what life might actually look like if I up and moved here. I figured if I still liked Paris when it was cold and dark and dead... well then, maybe I should actually listen to that crazy voice inside telling me to move across the Atlantic. Leaving New York after 15+ years felt equal parts exciting and unhinged.
Wrapping up this year today in my 9th arrondissement apartment? Full-circle moment.
Before landing in this cozy, grounded new place, my personal and professional travels took me far and wide in 2025. From St. Barth’s to South Africa and even Bhutan, I genuinely couldn’t have asked for richer experiences. Bhutan, in particular, had been on my bucket list for YEARS. I remember dreaming of hiking to Tiger’s Nest back in my banking days (likely while running discounted cash flow models at 2am).
The fact that two clients will be following my lead and hiking Bhutan for themselves next year? Another full-circle moment.
One of my greatest joys in 2025 was watching longstanding clients reach new goals. I planned an Australia and New Zealand honeymoon for a former solo travel client. A Sicily babymoon for another former solo traveler. An Antarctica retirement trip for yet another repeat client.
As my clients’ lives have evolved—from solo adventures to marriage, babies, and new chapters—my business has evolved right alongside them.
What started as a solo travel business has turned into honeymoons, babymoons, and parents introducing their little ones to far-flung destinations. What started as a crazy move to Paris is slowly becoming my new home. And somewhere along the way, what started as another year to chase the next big milestone, became the year I finally started trusting the long-term path a bit more. Trusting myself a bit more.
Feeling grateful. Feeling (finally) grounded. And feeling excited for however this journey unfolds next.
