Just a little update. 🤍

Surgery went well on Friday, and now I’m just taking it easy, resting, recovering, and spending some much-needed time with my husband.

I wanted to say thank you. I have several hundred messages waiting for me in my DM’s and I’ve read so many incredibly kind words from you all over the last few days. I may not be able to respond to everyone right away, but please know how much your messages, prayers, love, and support have meant to Sam and me. I’ll get back to everyone as soon as I can. 🫶🏼

To everyone who sent flowers, dropped something off, checked in on us, or found another way to show us a little extra love, thank you. I even received the sweetest basket from someone I’ve never met before, with handwritten messages from her children that absolutely touched my heart and I will cherish their messages forever. The kindness people have shown us during such a difficult time has meant more than I can put into words. 🥺

I’m incredibly thankful for the nurses at Mat-Su Regional and especially my doctor, Dr. South. As hard as it was to be at the hospital that day, everyone was so kind and compassionate and made an incredibly difficult experience a little easier for us. I’m so grateful for the care I received.

For now, I’m just giving myself some time to rest and recover. Thank you all so much for checking on us and loving on us through this. 🪽

I was 13 years old on September 11, 2001, an eighth grader at Romig Middle School. I remember waking up to the horrific news that our country had been attacked. My mom had the news on at home, and I remember watching the coverage unfold, trying to understand what was happening.

At 13, I couldn’t fully comprehend the gravity of that day or how deeply it would change our country and our lives. Twenty-five years later, those memories still feel incredibly vivid.

Today, I’m especially grateful for my family and for the brave men and women who have dedicated their lives to protecting our country and our communities, then and now.

Thinking of the lives lost, the families forever changed, and the heroes who ran toward danger when others were running away.

We will never forget. 🇺🇸

Nate Smith concert at the Alaska State Fair! 🎶

Great performer and he was SO kind to everyone! He walked through the entire crowd for two of his songs, took pictures with numerous people, brought kiddos up to sing on stage with him and he even stayed after he was done and signed a ton of hats and memorabilia! 👏🏼
