**Isla Verde gets a 4.5/5 on the PMPR Walkability Scale!**

If you want to wake up, walk to the beach, grab coffee, find somewhere for lunch, head back to the pool and still have plenty of options for dinner, drinks or a casino that night, Isla Verde makes vacation VERY easy.

Why 4.5 and not a 5?
You can do a LOT without a car, but some of Puerto Rico’s best experiences still require a quick Uber or drive. Piñones, Old San Juan, La Placita, El Yunque, boat excursions and the Bio Bay are all outside your walkable bubble.

The beach is beautiful and generally a great option for a beach day, plus I love that you’re never far from food, drinks or hotel restaurants. And if you’re more of a pool person, several of the hotels offer day passes to their gorgeous pools.

Piñones Series Part 2:
If your idea of the perfect beach day includes great food, ice-cold beers, and the beach just steps away, Mar Bella Beach Club is a must.
The beach directly behind the restaurant feels like a little natural pool. The water is shallow, calm and super kid-friendly. It’s perfect for taking a dip or even sitting in the water with your beach chair!
A few things to know:
• Lunch & dinner
•Open at 11 am
• Indoor & outdoor seating
• Their beans are made without pork, so it’s vegetarian friendly!
• Stuffed tostones, stuffed lobster, rice & beans, mofongo and so so much more
• Dog Friendly
• Bug Spray during Sunset is a must! ( the sand fleas are no joke)
Come beach ready and hungry. You can easily make an entire beach day out of this one stop.

Things You HAVE to know for the best experience in Piñones 🇵🇷
Must-try foods:
• Pincho (Puerto Rican-style chicken/pork skewers)
• Alcapurria (fried fritter made from plantains and root vegetables, usually stuffed with meat or seafood)
• Empanadillas (fried turnovers filled with chicken, shrimp, crab, beef, and the oddly popular pizza version)
• Bacalaíto (giant crispy codfish fritter)
If you’ve never been to Piñones before, start with these.
And yes, get a piña colada. It was invented in Puerto Rico after all.🍹🍍
