Lunar New Year’s Day is here!

🐍 January 29th marks the start of the Year of the Snake! Did you know the week leading up to it is called xiao nian or “Little New Year”? Sometimes known as the Kitchen God Festival, it begins on January 22 in northern China and January 23 in the south.

January 28th is Chinese New Year’s Eve—a special time for families to reunite, a tradition that dates back 3,500 years! From late-night vigils to firecrackers and festive feasts, these age-old customs continue to bring joy and togetherness.

Some of the most popular New Year’s Eve dishes include dumplings, spring rolls, and sticky rice cakes—symbolizing luck, prosperity, and happiness.
