The passion I acquired for applying makeup truly happened by accident. When one day a friend suggested that I should get paid for my talent as I was applying her makeup for an event. I quickly decided to pursue a career in the Makeup Industry. I applied to local cosmetic counters in department stores and quickly landed a part-time Beauty Advisor position. lls at the cosmetic counters I also came to realize that I enjoyed helping women enhance their beauty needs, and it wasn't just about applying eye shadow. I started to get the feel for what to use and apply, took directions well, and was comfortable interacting with people, as well as having a passion to learn and improve my skills. I went on to complete a basic makeup course on-line to further improve my talent. I had the opportunity to experience all types of women from young to the mature with their skin care needs. It was also beneficial in learning all skin shades and types, personal preferences, as well as personalities. As I became more interested in makeup artistry, I started to pursue freelancing makeup artist opportunities but instead became a Cosmetic Counter Manager. From then on, I've worked hands-on with many luxury cosmetic lines. I was able to learn the business aspects of the cosmetic industry. I am currently freelancing at Department Store events, as well as at a high end salon in mid-towm Manhattan and some photo shoots. At this present time I freelance for MAC cosmetics @ MACYS HSQ 34th st, I enjoy the freedom of a freelancer because I get to spend time getting to know each client before making any decisions and not focusing on a sales. My goal is to understand their unique needs, and to get information about their background and who they truly are. This helps me work with clients to find and use a variety of colors that will best suit their beauty needs and or event/occasion. Born in Brooklyn, NY and moved to the New Haven, CT area about 5 years ago but in 2009 moved back to the Big Apple with my husband and 3 children. I enjoy interacting with people and being in different environment. I also work well under pressure and usher any challenges that I may encounter.
