Not every trip goes according to plan—and that is the exact reason you want a travel advisor in your corner when the unexpected happens.
During a recent Greenland & Iceland trip I planned for my clients, Scott had a fall the day before they were set to fly home and landed in a hospital in Iceland. While they focused on his health, I went to work behind the scenes.
The doctors took their time evaluating him, leaving us with a very narrow window for rescheduling. As we waited for the doctor’s clearance, I worked with Largay Air to rebook their tickets. Finally, the “Fit to Fly” authorization was signed! With just 10 minutes to spare before our cutoff to cancel their existing tickets and avoid a no-show, I activated their trip insurance, cancelled their original flights, and rebooked their airfare for a day later.
Huge shoutout to the Largay Travel Air Department for working alongside me to get them rebooked within the hour as we waited to hear the final word on the doctor’s clearance!
Reading their Virtuoso review reminded me why I love what I do:
“Stefany has done an incredible job arranging many memorable trips over the past few years but this one was a challenge. Scott had an accident the day before we were to fly home from Iceland & we were unable to fly out on time. We notified Stefany ASAP & she activated our trip insurance and started looking for flight options. The doctors took their time evaluating him but left us with a very narrow window for rescheduling. Finally the Fit to Fly authorization was signed! With just 10 minutes to spare she cancelled our original flight & booked the replacement for a day later still in business class & got us back home. We are most grateful for Stefany’s help thru this. Her calm, caring & professional manner helped us thru this very difficult & unexpected situation.”
Smooth sailing is great, but expert support when things go sideways is priceless. ✈️
