Millionaire's Row

If you are the type that would buy a map of the stars or go on a bus tour looking for famous screen actors, then you might want to get a glimpse of Millionaire's Row in Miami. Unfortunately, the homes of these famous people are far less accessible than those scattered about the Hollywood hills. Many of Miami's most famous residents live on an exclusive island called Star Island, known locally as Millionaire's Row. But you can get a nice view of the homes of celebrities like Gloria Estefan and Julio Iglesias from tour boats driven by captains who will give you the tabloid version of what goes on in these exclusive estates.

Art Deco District

Listed in the National Register of Historic Places, Miami's Art Deco Historic District is a unique area of the city representing the largest collection of Art Deco architecture in the world. The district was built between 1923 and 1943 and includes hundreds of hotels, apartments and other commercial properties. Strolling along the streets of the district can provide a stunning view of this area from a bygone era, and at night the accent lighting makes some of it even more impressive. There are tours available to visitors who want to learn more about this area of the city.

South Beach

Perhaps the most famous spot in Miami is South Beach. The stretch of sand that borders the ocean along Ocean Drive in South Beach Miami is a haven for sun worshipers, the rich and famous as well as families vacationing from across America. The beach is often crowded with beach bodies relaxing after a long night of revelry in the lively nightclubs on the other side of Ocean Drive. In addition to a beautiful stretch of sand, South Beach includes a 1.6-mile beach path for rollerblading, biking and walking. Visitors should be advised that there might be the occasional topless sunbather here as well. Technically, nearby Haulover Beach is the "clothing optional" beach, but topless sunbathers are a regular sight all along South Beach.
