There’s something to be said for being prepared while you travel. But there’s also something to be said for packing light and being able to cruise through the airport process because you aren’t checking a bag — especially with the increase in lost luggage and long airport lineups lately.

Instead of trying to pack everything under the sun, consider buying some of the items for your trip at your destination once you arrive. It’s much easier to check a bag on the way home and take on the risk of it being misplaced.

Of course, not every destination will have the items you’re used to having at home, so be mindful of this.

Goal #1 - I’m making more time for travel! I’m kicking things off with a trip to Ghana.

Goal #2 - I’m checking one big thing off my wish list. Right now, I’m debating between Japan and Singapore.

Goal #3 - I want to try some new things! Including skiing and learning to cook my favorite Thai dishes.
