The sacred traditions of Bhutan 🇧🇹

High in the Himalayas, prayer flags dance on the breeze. Their colours guide you through forests to hushed monasteries and ancient dzongs, where ancient traditions remain a part of daily life.

Our recommendation: witness **Bhutan’s cultural traditions** at the Punakha Tschechu Festival.

In February or March, make your way across the Punakha valley to the imposing Punakha Dzong fortress. The rhythmic beat of drums and melodies of traditional music echo through the still air as you grow closer. Trace the W Trek in Chile

Begin at EcoCamp Patagonia amidst the rolling valleys of Torres del Paine. Led by guides, you’ll glide across the waters of Lake Grey to the icy expanse of Grey Glacier. Then hike deep into Ascencio Valley to marvel at the Paine Towers.

Trek through Aokigahara Forest in Japan

Whilst Japan is renowned for its cherry blossom, it’s just as striking from September to November – when gardens and city parks glow with the red and gold hue of autumn leaves.

One of the best places to experience the season in Japan is Nikko. David, one of our Asia Pacific specialists, recommends hiking to the mighty Kegon Falls to see the thundering waterfall framed by the colours of autumn.

For centuries coffee farms have nurtured their crops high in the mountains, where volcanic, mineral-rich soil produces flavourful and clean beans. One of our favourite ways to uncover the journey of coffee from bean to cup is with a stay at Finca Rosa Blanca.
